Interpreting Equipment Services
No matter where your event takes place, our interpreting equipment solutions are customized to your needs, from cost-effective setups to advanced relay configurations enabling interpretation into multiple languages. Combined with our world-class, professionally trained interpreters and project managers, Capital Linguists provides a seamless, full-service conference experience.
At the heart of interpreting equipment are wireless headsets and receivers, ensuring every participant can listen in their own language. Complementing this, microphones and transmitters facilitate clear, two-way communication between speakers and interpreters.
In informal environments, interpreters often listen directly to the speaker while seated nearby. In professional conferences, however, the audiovisual system must integrate with interpreting equipment to deliver a high-quality audio feed. This ensures interpreters can focus on their task of simultaneously listening to and interpreting the source language.
Interpreting booths serve two key purposes: they protect interpreters from background noise and offer a calm, distraction-free environment for optimal focus. There are two types: tabletop booths, which are a cost-effective and portable option, and full booths, the preferred choice for high-profile conferences and events.
Portable or Stationary Interpretation Equipment
Portable Interpreting Systems
Our “Tour Guide” set is completely portable and scalable. This allows us to deliver exceptional service at nearly any location worldwide. It includes a headset and receiver for each participant to listen in their own language, plus microphones and portable transmitters that send the interpreters’ voices to the headsets.
Stationary Interpreting Equipment
For high-demand conference settings, our stationary equipment includes full booths, a transmitter, a mixer, interpreter consoles, and interpreter headsets, along with wireless headsets and receivers for the audience. As more languages and interpreters are added, the system grows in complexity and is charged by the day. Capital Linguists manages conferences of virtually any size, from two to thirty-five working languages.
The Interpretation Technicians – Poorly Configured Equipment is Worse Than No Equipment
Our experienced, friendly, and well-trained interpreting equipment technicians are always on hand to set up, oversee, and dismantle your equipment. With our expert team handling everything from booths and transmitters to PA systems and microphones, you can rest easy knowing any potential issues will be swiftly addressed to maintain smooth operations throughout your event.
Out technical team sets up and tests the equipment at the venue, usually on the day before the event starts. In an ideal situation, the technicians and audio-visual crews should have access to the venue well in advance. The technicians take care of shipping, delivering, and setting up the interpreting equipment.
We assess the venue’s AV capabilities in advance to ensure seamless integration with interpreting equipment. After the event, our technicians ensure headsets and equipment are collected. They can also make recordings of the interpretation for clients, along with transcription and translation.
What Translation Equipment Do I Need?
Basic conferencing equipment is always necessary, but your exact needs will vary based on the size of the audience, the venue dimensions, and the number of listeners, as well as your portability requirements and budget considerations.
Essential equipment for conferences includes:
Headsets and receivers to enable participants to listen in their preferred language.
Microphones for speakers and participants on stage.
A PA system to broadcast stage audio throughout the venue.
Video monitors for interpreters to view speakers when the stage isn’t visible.
Infrared systems and radio frequency devices for seamless audio transmission.
Soundproof booths for simultaneous interpreting
Supporting equipment like transmitters, mixers, CCUs, and infrared radiators.
Headsets and Receivers
Headsets and receivers for audiences include disposable earbuds and over-the-ear headsets. Earbuds are suitable for one-time use, such as during guided tours, while over-ear headsets are paired with pocket receivers and are collected after the event. The headset allows the audience members to listen in any of the languages offered at the meeting. Interpreters are equipped with specialized headsets, often with integrated microphones or compatible with interpreter console microphones.
Transmitter
The fixed transmitter sends the signal from the interpreters to the audience headsets.
Receivers
Receivers capture signals transmitted from the transmitter and can support up to 32 channels, making them ideal for multilingual events. This allows audience members and participants to select and listen to their preferred language.
Microphones
For large conferences, you can choose from a variety of microphones, including tabletop, gooseneck, handheld, and lavalier models, each suited to different needs and settings.
Two Kinds of Booth: Free Standing or Table Top
An interpreting booth is crucial not only for keeping the noise of interpreting out of the conference space but also for ensuring that the interpreters can maintain their sharp concentration.
Fully-Enclosed Booth
Portable, soundproof simultaneous interpretation booths are designed with four walls, a ceiling, a floor, and ventilation to ensure optimal functionality. Their soundproofing prevents distracting noises from entering or leaving the interpreters’ space.
Tabletop Booth
When space or time is limited, the tabletop booth is the perfect solution. Open at the back and featuring walls on the front, top, and sides, it’s lightweight, quick to assemble, and easy to transport.
Often referred to as simultaneous interpretation equipment, conference interpreting equipment, or simultaneous translation equipment, we offer a wide range of options, including all necessary audio-visual and conference audio systems.
Skilled interpreters ensure seamless, natural communication, making you feel like you’re genuinely engaging with your foreign language counterpart instead of just exchanging polite gestures.
